Why have I been charged a late payment fee?

A late payment charge is made if your payment does not reach us by the payment due date. Please make sure you allow sufficient time for your payment to reach your account. The normal timescales for making payments prior to the due date are as follows:

  • By debit card using our online account service - allow at least 1 working days
  • Using your bank's telephone / internet banking service - allow at least 1 working days
  • Over the counter at your bank - allow at least 4 working days
  • Sending a cheque by post - allow at least 7 working days

Please check with your bank before making the payment.

The easiest way to make a payment is by direct debit. This will be collected automatically every month and you won't miss making a payment. You can set up a direct debit using our online account service.
